Just as a lighthouse guides seamen through treacherous waters into safe harbors, Jesus Christ is our beacon that guides us through the trials and challenges of life into the harbor of his grace.

Beacon: Ministry for Same-Sex-Attracted Latter-day Saints is a peer-led group of Latter-day Saints seeking to empower individuals and families addressing same-sex attraction to authentically and joyfully live the gospel of Jesus Christ and keep sacred covenants. We provide a safe, confidential, and gospel-centered environment,  in which we share our collective knowledge and life experiences in order to uplift, inspire, engender hope, and strengthen one another. We invite all to follow Christ, who is the true source of strength, joy, and healing. We hope that all may find joy in their journey and peace in their hearts.

Safe

Our support group is a safe place. No matter where you may be at in your journey with faith and same-sex attraction, this is safe place to get help and support from other members going through the same journey with you.

Confidential

We are committed strictly maintain the confidentiality of all group participants. If and when members disclose their same-sex attraction is a very sensitive and personal matter, therefore the names of members and meeting locations are kept confidential.

Gospel-centered

We affirm the teachings and doctrines of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, including the teachings outlined in The Family: A Proclamation to the World concerning marriage and proper sexual expression. All support meetings are based off the teachings of the gospel of Jesus Christ.

“Let us be clear: The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints believes that ‘the experience of same-sex attraction is a complex reality for many people. The attraction itself is not a sin, but acting on it is. Even though individuals do not choose to have such attractions, they do choose how to respond to them.’”

Elder Russell M. Ballard
